Get Store Credit

  • How it works.

    You may bring one box per party per day. Please sign in at the bookselling desk. Everyone is seen in the order they arrive. You must remain in the store while we review your books for in-store credit. We will return any books to you we won’t take.

    For those interested in donating books (no store credit, no book return) you may drop off your books at anytime during regular store hours. We have the right to donate or recycle any books we will not use.

  • What we take.

    We’re interested in a wide variety of genres, but especially romance, fantasy, sci-fi, classics, literary fiction, business, art, film, poetry, design, architecture, fashion, history, Dungeons & Dragons, memoirs, cooking, gardening, writing, YA, and Kids’ books.

  • What we don't take.

    Books with water damage, mold, or mildew; insect damage, food stains, etc.; books with highlighting, underlining, or notes in the margins. Books that have damaged spines or heavily damaged covers.

    Genres we aren’t interested include: textbooks, test prep books, computer and tech manuals, encyclopedias or sets, dictionaries, Reader’s Digest and other periodicals or magazines, diet cookbooks, travel guides, bibles and theology, or abridged or condensed books of longer novels.

Used Book Program

Here at West Main Coffee & Books, we sell both new and used books. Our used book program keeps new and interesting titles flowing through the shop we wouldn’t typically be able to carry.

We have two options for used books: store credit or donation.

For those interested in receiving store credit for their used books:

  • Store credit will automatically be allocated to books and merchandise unless otherwise requested.

  • Can be transferred to a coffee shop gift card (can only be used for cafe items, including drinks, grab-and-go, pastry, and other food). This is a permanent action that cannot be reversed.

  • Does not equal rewards in the coffee shop.

  • Should visit the store during our designated Used Book Program hours or by appointment.

  • We do not pay cash for books.

Donated used books will be given to West Main Coffee & Books at no cost to them and no gain of the donor. Donated used books will be used at the discretion of West Main Coffee Company.

Donated books may be dropped off at the shop anytime during regular operating hours.
